The Automatic Warehouse/system 

As of January 2009 the fully automated last generation warehouse is operating with a capability of more than 15.000 pallets.

The material coming from our factories is divided into standard products (stocked and handled in the automatic warehouse) and special products (stocked in three special areas with a capability of further 3.000 pallets). Standard products are stocked into the automatic warehouse through a laser scanning gate which allows the free-pass entry of each pallet.

The automatic warehouse is provided with three elevators which enable the quick and precise picking of the goods. Once the goods have been picked, then these are carried to the picking bays by five auto-steering ships which radio-communicate with the central system. Currently two picking bays are used, working over shifts. These bays are conceived upon a modular system and could therefore be potentially increased in the future.

The prepared pallets are then called back by the system along special trails and carried to an automated hooding machine for the final preparation.

In this phase the pallets are labelled for the shipment and collected in a special area, where they will be picked up by the forwarder.

The management of the whole warehousing system is carried out through a software system synoptically guided.
