Screws and bolts Made in Italy to avoid CBAM risk

The CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) is the new measure introduced by the European Union to prevent the relocation of CO₂ emissions beyond EU borders.

It is a key component of the European Green Deal and the “Fit for 55” package, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and reach climate neutrality by 2050.

Currently in a transitional phase until 31 December 2025, the CBAM directly affects our sector: those importing screws, bolts and metal components from outside Europe will have to deal with new regulations, documentation requirements, and – from 2026 – an additional cost linked to the carbon emissions associated with those products.

CBAM – The real challenge for SMEs

VIBO screws and bolts: No CBAM risk

At Bontempi VIBO, we manufacture every component entirely in Italy, using steel from a certified national supply chain.

This choice translates into peace of mind for our customers:

  • Full exemption from CBAM-related costs
  • No data collection or emissions reporting obligations
  • Access to high-quality products, EU-compliant and supported by complete documentation

In a constantly evolving regulatory context, choosing Italian suppliers is not only a guarantee of quality, but also a competitive advantage!
